Sports Photographers: Peter Read Miller
dec 2nd
From time to time, I’ll post an entry about some of the top sports photographers out there. I filed this entry in the “Review” category, but these guys are so out of my league that I’m not worthy to “review” them… lets just call this a post about my opinion of their work.
This week we’ll start off with one of my favorite photographers, Peter Read Miller, staff photographer for Sports Illustrated.
Mr. Miller has been shooting for S.I. for well over 20 years and in that time he’s had over 100 cover shots on S.I.
He is also a member of sportsshooter.com and teaches a yearly sports photography workshop in Denver.
I especially like this particular photograph of former NFL Linebacker Matt Millen. This pictures boils football down to what it’s all about (okay, so there’s more to it than that, but you get it!), sweat, blood and toughness.
To see Peter in action check out this link of him shooting the crazy and colourful Lucha Libras of New Mexico.
